The Iron Academy Film Appreciation Club exists to help students become thoughtful, discerning viewers of film as an artistic, cultural, and moral medium. The club is not simply a movie night: screenings are selected for their artistic merit, cultural importance, historical interest, moral or philosophical questions, or usefulness in understanding the language of cinema with the aim of engaging the culture for Christ.
The club operates within the Christian educational mission of Iron Academy. A film’s inclusion does not imply endorsement of every idea, action, worldview, or moral judgment depicted in it. Students will be encouraged to recognize artistic excellence while evaluating the claims and assumptions of a film in light of truth, virtue, and a biblical understanding of the human person.
