This week we are excited to share the Sabo family's perspective about their experience at Iron Academy in today's Family Spotlight:
"We heard about Iron when Graham was in 3rd grade from a friend whose son had been a student. At the time, he was attending a local Christian school, where his sister, Harper, now attends as a 3rd grader. I cannot imagine where we would be if we had not taken that faithful step to enroll him at Iron in 6th grade! Not only is he receiving an excellent education, he is also learning valuable life lessons and his character is being formed by the teachers and staff who help us point him to Christ daily. Now as an 8th grader, he is more equipped to show leadership as a tribe leader and as middle school captain of the cross country team. Over the last two years, as a mother, I have learned an important life lesson. It can be hard for us to watch our sons grow up and pull away, but as he becomes more responsible for himself and that need for independence grows stronger, I am learning the importance of letting go.
Last year, my husband and I both got more involved at Iron. Dave joined the men’s bible study group and was able to connect with some of the fathers and enjoy fellowship with them. I was asked to join the IPF and it has been such a blessing to me. I have met some really wonderful people who have become amazing friends!
My favorite Bible verse has always been Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope.” What a great reminder that the Lord is on our side. The teachers and staff at Iron Academy partner with us to show our son that he has a hope and a future because we follow the one true King."
If you support our vision of restoring biblical manhood through iron-sharpens-iron discipleship, and our work making stories like that of the Sabo family possible, would you consider becoming an Iron Academy ally by making a needed one-time or monthly donation of $10, $25, $50, or more today?
